Revolut RevPoints: Can Your Everyday Spending Help You Travel? ✈️
You use Revolut to pay for things. But did you know you could also collect points for your next trip?
If you already have a Revolut account, you've probably heard about RevPoints.
But what are they, and are they actually worth collecting?
Let's keep it simple.
What are RevPoints?
RevPoints are Revolut's loyalty points.
Depending on your plan and eligible purchases, you can collect points when you pay with your Revolut card.
And here's the interesting part: you can transfer those points to participating airline loyalty programmes.
So yes, your everyday spending could eventually help you book a flight.
How do you earn RevPoints?
The number of points you earn depends on your Revolut plan.
For example, with the Standard plan in Germany, the usual earning rate is 1 RevPoint for every €10 of eligible card spending.
Other plans may offer better earning rates, but they also come with different costs.
My advice? Don't upgrade to a paid plan just to collect points without checking whether the benefits are worth the monthly fee.
Also, be careful with features that let you buy additional points or convert spare change into RevPoints. Those points aren't necessarily free.
How do you turn RevPoints into airline miles?
This is where things get interesting.
Revolut lets you transfer RevPoints to participating airline loyalty programmes, such as Flying Blue or Avios-based programmes, depending on availability in your country.
For eligible partners, the transfer rate is generally:
1 RevPoint = 1 airline mile or point.
For example, if you have 5,000 RevPoints, you could transfer them into 5,000 miles or points with an eligible airline partner.
But don't transfer your points blindly.
Check flight availability, taxes and fees before making a transfer. Transfers are generally irreversible.
Are RevPoints worth it?
It depends on how you use Revolut.
If you're already paying with your Revolut card, collecting points on eligible purchases can be a nice extra.
But with the Standard plan, collecting enough points for a flight can take time.
And remember: 5,000 miles don't automatically mean a free flight. The number of miles required depends on the airline, route and availability.
For me, RevPoints are another way to collect travel rewards alongside other programmes.
Not something to spend extra money chasing.
My advice
Start with the Revolut plan you already have.
Activate RevPoints, understand how you earn them, and check which airline partners are available in your app.
Most importantly, don't spend more just to earn points.
Miles are supposed to help you travel smarter, not make you spend more.
See you somewhere in the world! 🌍
