HOTEL OR SHARED VILLA FOR AFRONATION?

Which One Is Right for You?

Going to Afronation isn’t just about the festival. Where you stay can completely change the way you experience the week.

When it comes to accommodation, there are two very different vibes: staying in a hotel or joining a shared villa.

Neither one is better. It really depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for.

THE HOTEL VIBE 🏨

A hotel gives you your own space.

You wake up when you want, get ready at your own pace and come back after the festival without having to think about anyone else.

If you like privacy, comfort and having your own little bubble during a busy festival week, a hotel might be exactly what you need.

You’ll still meet plenty of people at the festival, beach parties, boat parties, restaurants and around Praia da Rocha.

But once you go back to your hotel, you’re back in your own world.

And for some people, that’s perfect.

THE SHARED VILLA VIBE 🏡

A shared villa is a completely different experience.

You’re not only going to Afronation. You’re living the week with other people who came for the same reason.

You wake up together, someone puts music on, people are having breakfast by the pool, talking about what happened the night before, deciding where to go during the day or getting ready together before heading to the festival.

But being in a shared villa doesn’t mean doing everything together.

Everyone is free to enjoy the trip their own way.

Some people go to the beach. Others sleep until 2 PM. Some go to a day party while others stay by the pool or explore the Algarve.

You do your own thing, but you always have that little community to come back to.

That’s what makes the shared villa experience special.

Afronation brings together people from different countries and backgrounds, and from my experience, people usually arrive with an open mindset: they’re on holiday, they want to have fun, meet people and experience something new.

Some arrive as complete strangers and leave with new friendships.

COMING SOLO? 🌍

This is where the difference can be even bigger.

You can absolutely come to Afronation solo and stay in a hotel. Once you’re out, you’ll meet people.

But in a shared villa, your social experience starts before you even enter the festival.

From day one, you already have people around you who are there for the same experience.

For solo travelers or people coming with just one or two friends, that can completely change the week.

SO… HOTEL OR SHARED VILLA?

Choose a hotel if you value privacy, convenience and having your own space above everything else.

Choose a shared villa if you want your accommodation to become part of the Afronation experience itself.

“At a hotel, you stay somewhere during Afronation.”“In a shared villa, you live Afronation together.”

Both can be amazing.

It just depends on your vibe and what you want from the trip.
